The tour will start on May 2 and 3 on the Major Stage of the
Ulyanovsk I.A. Goncharov Drama Theater with Artistic Director of the
Alexandrinsky Theater, People’s Artist of Russia, Laureate of State
Awards of Russia Valery Fokin’s performance “The Marriage” after N.V.
Gogol’s play of the same title.
On May 6 and 7, Oskaras Korshunovas’s
“The Taming of the Schrew” after W. Shakespeare’s comedy of the same
name will continue the tour. Three jobs of the outstanding masters of
the Alexandrinsky Stage from the one-man-show cycle of the “Monologues
in the Tsar’s Lobby” will be presented on the Small Stage of the
Ulyanovsk I.A. Goncharov Drama Theater: People’s Artist of Russia Igor
Volkov’s “An Anxious Box Keeper’s Sketch-Book” after M. Zoshchenko’s
short stories (May 3); People’s Artist of Russia Sergey Parshin’s
performance “Yearning to Live!” after B. Shergin, S. Pisakhov, M.
Sholokhov, and V. Shuksin’s stories (May 4), and People’s Artist of
Russia Vladimir Lisetsky’s one-man-show “My Being an Actor” after A.I.
Kuprin’s story of the same title (May 7). In Dimitrovgrad, on the stage
of the Dimitrovgrad A.N. Ostrovsky Drama Theater, theater goers will be
able to see the “Yearning to Live!” (May 3) and “An Anxious Box
Keeper’s Sketch-Book” (May 4).
The tour is taking place under the
frames of the Project of the Federal Center for the Support of the Tour
Activities “The Big Tour 2016.”
